Many thought Cotto
would be no match
for Mayweather's
speed and defense.
Early on Cotto was
on the attack.

weapon was his
left jab. He was
very accurate in
almost every round
in the first eight
rounds.

of defense has been
a staple of his long
career. He sees
everything coming
his way.

When Cotto picked
up Mayweather it
could have been
disastrous like the
first Hopkins fight
with Dawson. But
Cotto let him down
easy with no foul.

Both fired some
good exchanges as
Cotto's left kept
finding its mark and
Mayweather able to
land his rights.

Mayweather was
pinned in the
corner as Cotto
bloodied him with
several stiff left
jabs.

Mayweather found the
antidote to Cotto's
attack and began
landing numerous
uppercut combos in
the last three rounds.

Mayweather nearly
dropped Cotto with
right hand and
left uppercut combo
that landed almost
every time he
fired it.

  Mayweather and Cotto
ended on friendly
terms. It was one of
the more technically
entertaining fights in
a while. Both showed
a lot of heart with
Mayweather winning
by unanimous
decision. The crowd
was not disappointed
by the fight. It was a
thrilling 12 rounds.
